What Is Pilates? Core strength is the foundation of how Pilates works. Strengthening the core develops stability throughout the entire torso. This is one of the ways Pilates helps many people alleviate back pain. In this class you can increase your flexibility as you flow through a series of dynamic movements that restore balance to core muscles of the lower back and abdominals. Mat Pilates lengthens and strengthens for a strong, lean, physique.
